Rush Truck Centers in Jerome, Idaho is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to provide technical service for trucks and equipment. You will perform repairs, overhaul engines, and install components while reading job orders and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with insurability per company policy.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and/or ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, brakes, batteries, and transmissions.
• Read job orders and assess vehicle operation to plan work procedures.
• Check guards, bolts, and safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate and test drive to verify conformance to specs.
• Attend training classes and review factory bulletins.
• Develop positive relationships with customers to boost satisfaction.
