Job summary

Great Lakes Petroleum is seeking a skilled fleet mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel fuel trucks, boom trucks, and related equipment. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and drivability issues to keep vehicles safe and reliable.

You will document maintenance efforts and coordinate with supervisors on status and schedules. The ideal candidate has experience with air or hydraulic brakes, reads technical manuals, and follows safety

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience servicing air brake and/or hydraulic brake systems is required.
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to safely use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment to perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel fuel trucks, boom trucks, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and drivability issues to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Service and repair brake systems, suspensions, transmissions, steering components, and emissions systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fuel pumping and fuel transfer equipment installed on trucks.
  • Review and respond to VCRs, completing required maintenance and repairs promptly.
