Job summary

DALLAS TRAILER REPAIR CO. is seeking a Diesel Technician to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and related equipment. You will use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to diagnose issues and document them in our software.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work independently or with a team. ASE certifications are highly desired but not required; a HS diploma or GED is expected.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years mechanical or equivalent experience.
• ASE certifications highly desired but not required.
• Must pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test, background check, and drug/medical exam.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Ability to read and write in English for documentation and communication.
• Must have own tools and safety gear (steel-toed shoes, welding protection).
• Possesses a valid driver’s license (if Mobile Technician).
• Able to pass driving record review per Fleet Policy (Mobile Technician).
• Must be insurable per insurance requirements (Mobile Technician).
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Vocational/Trade-School certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and analyze vehicle and equipment for issues.
• Perform repairs according to industry standards and manufacturer specs.
• Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Knowledge of heavy truck systems (transmission, electrical).
• Develop action plans and follow checklists and protocols.
• Operate tools and calibration devices as required.
• Document cause/repair in software system.
• Maintain safe, organized workspace and equipment.
• Collaborate with coworkers or work independently.
• Follow health and safety rules and safe practices.
• Safely operate a mobile repair vehicle (if hired as Mobile Technician).
• Move trailers using a Yard Switcher as needed.
