Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, part of Rush Enterprises, Inc., is seeking a skilled diesel technician for on-site work in Lake City, Florida. You will service and repair trucks and engines, overhaul gas/diesel units, and install components per job orders.

Applicants need a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of Class 7-8 experience. A valid driver's license is required; ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician at a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current valid driver license with insurability.
• Peterbilt/International/Ford/Hino/Isuzu/Cummins ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, bearings, and other parts.
• Read job orders, observe operations, and plan work procedures.
• Inspect safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and verify vehicle conformance to specs.
• Attend training and stay current with factory bulletins.
• Develop positive customer relationships to increase satisfaction.
