Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is hiring a Diesel Technician to overhaul gas or diesel engines and perform complex repairs on trucks and components. Join a large national network offering training and growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Class 7/8 technician roles, ASE certifications preferred, and a valid driver license. Competitive pay with shift premiums and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician preferred.
• Current and valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
• ASE certifications preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches and belts.
• Read job orders and plan work procedures.
• Inspect safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and drive vehicle to verify standards.
• Attend training and keep up with factory bulletins.
• Build positive customer relationships.
