Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a skilled technician to service heavy trucks at our location in Effingham, IL. The role involves diagnosing and repairing engines, fuel systems, and components, with emphasis on safe operations and quality workmanship.

You will read job orders, perform overhauls of gas/diesel engines, and test drive completed work to ensure conformance to specifications. Ongoing training and growth opportunities are provided in a dynamic dealership network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with insurability.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Read job order and observe vehicle to determine malfunction and plan procedures.
• Examine safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and drive vehicle to verify specs.
• Attend training and stay updated with factory bulletins.
• Develop relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction.
