First Student, Inc. in Concord, CA is hiring a Diesel Technician to maintain and repair school buses, ensuring safety and reliability for students in Lamorinda, Traffix, and Seven Hills School District.

This full-time day-shift role offers pay from $40.41 to $43.08 per hour, company-paid ASE and CDL training, a comprehensive benefits package, holidays, vacation, and opportunities to advance at over 540 locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Possession of a mechanic's tool set.
• Willingness to participate in ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided).
• Strong computer skills.
• Note: DOT drug testing for safety-sensitive role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for passengers.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, and other repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
