Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician) to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, refuse vehicles, trailers, and equipment while expanding technical expertise.

You'll work with Master Technicians to perform preventive maintenance, tackle intermediate and advanced repairs, and support equipment reliability. ASE/Brake/CDL credentials are a plus for this role.

Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience maintaining or repairing diesel trucks, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, or related mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and preventive maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must provide and maintain a basic set of professional tools.
  • ASe certifications, Brake Certification, Class A CDL, refuse industry experience, and bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and air brake systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize the reliability of our trucks and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to identify equipment failures.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and component repairs when qualified.
  • A ccurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.
  • Work alongside Diesel Technician A (Master Technician)s while continuing to build your technical knowledge and skills.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and operational needs as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote a strong safety culture.
