Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician) to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and refuse equipment. You'll work with seasoned Master Technicians to expand your skills while ensuring uptime and safety.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, welding, and completing detailed maintenance records in a fast-paced, safety-focused shop environment. CDL and ASE credentials are a plus as is bilingual capability.

Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience maintaining or repairing diesel trucks.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and preventive maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must provide and maintain a basic set of professional tools.
  • ASE certifications, Brake Certification, Class A CDL, refuse industry experience, and bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) are a plus.

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and air brake systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize the reliability of our trucks and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to identify equipment failures.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and component repairs when qualified.
  • Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.
  • Work alongside Diesel Technician A (Master Technician)s while continuing to build your technical knowledge and skills.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and operational needs as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote a strong safety culture.

Your Role

As a Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician), you'll inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, refuse vehicles, trailers, and equipment while continuing to expand your technical expertise. You'll perform preventive maintenance, complete intermediate and advanced repairs, work alongside experienced Master Technicians, and help maximize equipment reliability and operational uptime.
