Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling seeks a Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician) to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, refuse vehicles, trailers, and equipment. You’ll work with experienced Master Technicians to maximize reliability and uptime, while advancing your technical expertise.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, advanced repairs, and responding to emergency jobs, with a strong safety culture and opportunities for growth within the team.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience maintaining or repairing diesel trucks or heavy equipment.
• Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and preventive maintenance.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of professional tools.
• ASE certifications, Brake Certification, Class A CDL, refuse industry experience, and bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize reliability of trucks and equipment.
• Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic software and testing equipment to identify equipment failures.
• Wear PPE and maintain a clean, safe work environment following OSHA regulations.
