Job summary

Republic Services offers a Technician Apprenticeship program designed to train entry-level technicians over two years. The apprenticeship includes nine weeks of paid training at the Technical Institute in Dallas, followed by twenty-two months of on-the-job training across our U.S.

units, with mentorship and virtual instruction. Participants work toward an Apprentice certification and potential advancement to a Level C Technician.

Qualifications

• Ability to commit to a two-year apprenticeship program.
• Willingness to travel to Dallas, TX for in-person training.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends or holidays when required.
• Commitment to Republic Services values, safety and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment.
• Engage in hands-on OJT and mentor-guided training to achieve Apprentice certification.
• Develop electrical, hydraulic, air system, and wheel-end knowledge during the program.
• Progress through program milestones toward Level C Technician status.
