Core-Mark in Knoxville, TN is seeking an Apprentice Diesel Tech/Mechanic to join our fleet shop. This entry-level program pairs you with a mentor to learn truck mechanics, preventative maintenance, and shop procedures. You'll work hands-on, document work, and develop skills while earning hourly pay and benefits from Day 1.

Completion of an automotive/diesel program or enrollment is preferred. This role is ideal for those starting a career in diesel technology and seeking structured

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment or completion in automotive or diesel mechanics program preferred.
• Basic computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the mentor to learn necessary knowledge of the trade.
• Assist with inspections, diagnostics, and repairs alongside mentor.
• Document work, report issues, and manage tool inventory.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with tool organization.
• Learn safety procedures and apply them on the job.
• Assist with and learn about reefer units and shop procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
