Job summary

TravelCenters of America in Milldale, CT is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers to high standards in a fast-paced service environment.

Responsibilities include performing diagnostic testing, interpreting results, and communicating repair plans to the Service Advisor. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within TA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; graduate of acceptable trade school or manufacturer's technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Meet the requirements for the needed physical tasks with or without accommodation.
• Investment in own tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a reasonable and responsible manner.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment; complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommend other TA services during inspection reviews with customers.
• Maintain the safety of both customers and employees.
