Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our service team in Eaton, OH. You will troubleshoot, diagnose and repair heavy‑duty trucks and trailers, providing precise service within our safety and quality standards.

You will perform diagnostics, develop repair plans and communicate them clearly to the Service Advisor. The role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; trade school or manufacturer’s tech school or prior mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised and with others in a team.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Investment in own tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment; complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Recommend other TA services with customer as part of inspection review process.
• Maintain the safety of both customers and employees.
