Job summary

Love’s Travel Stops in Magee, MS seeks Diesel Apprentices to learn through our Apprentice Program. You will interact with customers and drivers, learn electrical and mechanical diagnostics, and perform preventative maintenance in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Program participants are taught through hands-on training and can pursue tuition assistance while working toward professional certifications. Expect rotating day/night shifts and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Mechanical inclination with little or no professional experience is welcome and will be taught.
• Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds, work in various temperatures, and follow safety policies.
• Willingness to learn electrical and vehicle diagnostics through hands-on training.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services and preventative maintenance learning.
• Learn and perform diagnostics across electrical, air conditioning, wheel end, air system, and charging systems.
• Support parts lookup and acquisition to fulfill service orders.
• Work a rotating day/night schedule and prioritize customer safety and satisfaction.

In The Apprentice Program, You Can Expect To Learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Assist customers with roadside services
• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love’s)
