Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician A (Master Technician) to diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and fleet equipment. You will perform advanced diagnostics, complete complex repairs, and mentor junior technicians to ensure safety and high workmanship standards.

You will use OEM diagnostic software and welding tools, support preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies as needed. A CDL and multiple OEM certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of heavy-duty diesel technician experience.
  • Master ASE certification for medium/heavy trucks is required.
  • CDL, Brake certification, and other OEM certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine, transmission, steering, suspension and air brake issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to maximize fleet reliability.
  • Mentor Diesel Technician B and C team members with best practices.

Do you enjoy diagnosing complex mechanical problems, solving challenges, and taking pride in keeping equipment operating at its best?As a Diesel Technician A (Master Technician) at Coastal Waste & Recycling, you'll be one of the most experienced members of our Fleet Maintenance team, helping keep the trucks and equipment that power our business safely on the road every day.At Coastal, our technicians aren't just mechanics—they're trusted experts who play a critical role in serving our customers and supporting our operations.Your RoleAs a Diesel Technician A (Master Technician), you'll independently diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, refuse vehicles, yellow iron, and other critical fleet equipment. You'll perform advanced diagnostics, complete complex repairs, mentor fellow technicians, and help maximize fleet reliability while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.What You'll DoDiagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and air brake system issues.Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize fleet reliability and minimize equipment downtime.Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, yellow iron, and other heavy equipment.Utilize OEM diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot equipment failures.Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and metal repairs using steel and aluminum welding equipment.Inspect completed repairs to ensure equipment meets company safety standards, DOT regulations, and manufacturer specifications.Mentor Diesel Technician B and Diesel Technician C team members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.Partner with Fleet leadership to identify repair priorities and recommend long-term maintenance solutions.Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.Respond to emergency breakdowns and field repairs as operational needs require.At Coastal, we win as a team.
