Job summary

Parks Chevrolet Charlotte in Charlotte, NC is seeking a full-time Automotive Technician to perform repairs per repair orders, diagnose malfunctions, complete MPI inspections, and support service standards.

You will use AutoPoint for orders and parts communication, document work, road-test when needed, follow safety policies, and stay current with factory bulletins. ASE certification is preferred and diesel engine repair experience is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Diesel engine repair training or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
• Follow safety policies and wear required PPE.
• ASE certification is preferred.
• Automotive Technician Experience Required.
• Proven Fixed Right Survey Scores.

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy per dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Complete MPI Inspection report and send findings to the service advisor.
• Execute the service SOP at all times.
• Use AutoPoint and keep repair orders up to date; aim for two recommendations per vehicle.
• Communicate with parts department via AutoPoint to obtain parts.
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service is required.
• Notify the service advisor if additional work is unnecessary or cannot be completed as promised.
• Document work performed; road-test vehicles when required or refer to test technician.
• Keep up with factory technical bulletins and safety policies.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair
• Complete MPI Inspection report and send findings to the service advisor
• Executes the service SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) at all times.
• Utilizes AutoPoint and keeps all repair orders up to date and strives to maintain at least two recommendations per vehicle.
• Utilize AutoPoint to communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Notify the service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is not needed or required
• Notify the service advisor immediately if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
• Document work performed
• Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
• Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean
• Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor
