The position features a second shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, with a pay rate of $27.00 per hour and various bonuses and benefits. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, basic tools, and CDL Class A preferred (ability to obtain CDL within 6 months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools are required.
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine maintenance like oil changes and brake/tire work.
• 2+ years of classroom training or work experience related to the role preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months and pass Ryder checks.
• Must drive Ryder vehicles and pass the required background checks, drug tests, and DOT/MOT screenings.
• This position requires compliance with safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identifies root cause of failures and performs repairs.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic records.
• Follows all safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
