Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Madison, Alabama is hiring a mid-level Diesel Technician on the second shift (12:30 pm – 9:00 pm) with weekends off. The role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision after 30 days, and PTO from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required to perform maintenance.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred or must obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties on heavy-duty vehicles.
• Conduct standard vehicle inspections and repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service diagnostics as needed.
• Identify root causes of failures and implement repairs.
• Work with customers/drivers to determine issues and document tasks in the shop system.
