Job summary

Hogan Transportation in Columbus, OH is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to diagnose and repair Hogan tractor and truck equipment. The role includes removal, replacement and repair of components across the fleet, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and use hand, air and power tools to diagnose fix braking, electrical, steering, HVAC, and tire systems. A strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• In-depth knowledge of hand, air and power tools required for this industry.
• Basic welding and Oxy/Acetylene cutting procedures understood.

Responsibilities

• Provides preventive maintenance and DOT inspections following standard procedures.
• Diagnoses and repairs tractors and trucks using established policies and tools.
• Identifies parts/systems needing repair and replaces as needed.
• Removes broken parts and replaces with new or reconditioned parts.
• Road tests vehicles to diagnose issues and ensure safe operation.

Job Summary

Provides required maintenance, including diagnosis and repair for Hogan tractor and truck equipment. Includes the removal, replacement and repair of any an all components of the tractor or truck.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides preventive maintenance and DOT Inspection using the correct procedures and guidelines.
• Diagnoses and repairs tractors and trucks using well-established policies and procedures, as well as hand and power tools; this includes, but is not limited to, various types of braking systems (hydraulic, air, disc), electrical systems, clutches, air conditioning and heating systems and instruments and gauges, steering mechanisms, wheels, tires, batteries.
• Identifies parts and/or systems for repair; repairs or replaces, as appropriate.
• Removes broken parts and replaces with new or reconditioned parts.
• Road tests vehicles to diagnosis issues and ensure a safe operating vehicle.
• Uses hydraulic jacks to raise equipment.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school education or GED
• In-depth knowledge of all hand, air and power tools required for this industry
• Basic understanding and knowledge of welding and Oxy/Acetylene cutting procedures
• Overall complete knowledge with comprehensive truck/trailer repair.
• Extensive diagnostic and repair knowledge.
• Clean MVR
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
