NationaLease partner Rihm Kenworth in Red Wing, MN is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to service heavy and medium trucks, diagnose engine and chassis issues, and document repairs with care. You will work on Kenworth and other makes, ensuring safety and reliability while supporting warranty processes and productive outcomes.

Ideal candidates have hands-on repair experience, strong mechanical and analytical skills, and a commitment to ongoing training and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy duty and medium truck repair with strong mechanical, analytical, and reasoning skills.
• Preferred trade school certification in automotive or truck maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical services to vehicles and equipment.
• Reads job orders, observes and listens to vehicles to resolve malfunctions and plan work procedures.
• Follows checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
• Coordinates with warranty administrators to maximize profit recapture and manage warranty parts.
• Adheres to manufacturer policies and documents labor operations, time and repair orders.
• Completes work per safety requirements and published procedures.
• Test drives vehicles to verify issues are fixed and maintains clean workspaces.
• Participates in technical training and ensures vehicles are returned clean.

To perform both engine and chassis repairs on primarily Kenworth trucks, but also Peterbilt, International, Freightliner, vocational vehicles, and other makes. The scope of the job includes diagnosis, troubleshooting, and writing detailed stories for documentation purposes in addition to the physical work done on the truck.

Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities

• Provides technical services to vehicles and equipment.
• Reads job order and observes and listens to vehicles in operation to resolve malfunctions and plan work procedures.
• Follows checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
• Coordinates with warranty administrators to ensure maximum profit recapture, including answering questions after repair and tagging warranty parts for return.
• Adheres to manufacturer's policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation.
• Maintains designated workspace in an organized and clean manner.
• Completes all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
• Properly completes all work assigned by service manager/advisor and test drives vehicles to verify that issues are fixed.
• Participates in technical training assigned by management.
• Ensures customer vehicles are returned at the same level of cleanliness prior to being serviced.
• Makes every effort to achieve production objectives set by management.
• Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and adjusts as needed.
• Develops and maintains friendly and courteous relationships with customers, visitors, and coworkers

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in heavy duty and medium truck repair along with exceptional mechanical, analytical, and reasoning skills.

• Ability to pass DOT drug screen and physical

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
