Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Diesel Technician, Heavy Truck Technician, or related mechanical field required.
  • Fleet or dealership experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with fabrication and wet kit installations preferred.
  • ASE certifications and CDL preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic abilities.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Must provide and maintain personal hand tools necessary for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and performance-related issues
  • Complete preventative maintenance services and both minor and major repairs as outlined on repair orders
  • Identify and recommend additional repairs or maintenance services as needed
  • Meet productivity, efficiency, and billable time expectations while accurately documenting labor hours
  • Test drive vehicles or coordinate test drives to verify repairs and ensure quality standards are met
  • Complete repair orders, service documentation, and inspection reports accurately and legibly
  • Process warranty parts and returns according to manufacturer and company requirements

Responsibilities

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday
  • Frequently use hands and arms to handle, grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, and operate tools, equipment, and vehicle components
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 60 pounds regularly and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment
  • Ability to work underneath vehicles, in confined spaces, and in varying positions for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders, service steps, and access elevated work areas
  • Must possess sufficient visual acuity to inspect vehicle components, diagnose issues, read technical information, and operate diagnostic equipment
  • Must possess sufficient hearing and communication ability to effectively interact with customers, coworkers, and supervisors and identify mechanical issues
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment when required
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, dust, oils, grease, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE)
