Aerotek in Orlando, FL is hiring a Diesel Truck Mechanic for a contract-to-hire role in Kissimmee. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, trailers and fleet equipment in a fast-paced shop, using diagnostic tools and multimeters.

The job requires 3+ years of diesel experience, ability to work independently, and own tools; preferred ASE certs and CDL. Salary range is $24-$30 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Proficient in diesel engine diagnostics and repair.
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit Diesel engines; Freightliner trucks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles
• Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and inspections
• Conduct electrical and mechanical diagnostics using diagnostic software, scan tools, and multimeters
• Repair Cummins and Detroit Diesel engines, aftertreatment systems, and HVAC/heating systems
• Repair braking, steering, transmissions, and electrical wiring on fleet vehicles
• Test drive vehicles and complete DOT inspections and required documentation
• Repair or replace components including motors, radiators, lights, ignition systems, and accessories
• Communicate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issues
• Mentor junior technicians when needed

Diesel Truck Mechanic

Location: Orlando, FL

Shift: Monday-Friday | 12:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Are you an experienced diesel mechanic looking for a stable opportunity with a growing fleet operation? We are seeking a skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team and perform repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered trucks, tractors, and trailers. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues while working independently in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacements, and inspections
• Conduct electrical and mechanical diagnostics using diagnostic software, scan tools, and multimeters
• Repair and service:
• Cummins and Detroit Diesel engines
• Aftertreatment systems
• HVAC/AC and heating systems
• Braking systems
• Alternators and charging systems
• Clutches and transmissions
• Steering and suspension components
• Electrical wiring and electronic systems
• Test drive vehicles and verify repairs
• Complete DOT inspections and required documentation
• Repair or replace components including motors, shocks, radiators, lights, ignition systems, and accessories
• Communicate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issues
• Assist with mentoring and supporting junior technicians when needed

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair
• Experience working with:
• Cummins engines
• Detroit Diesel engines
• Freightliner trucks
• Tractors and trailers
• Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Experience using a multimeter and diagnostic testing equipment
• Knowledge of aftertreatment systems
• Ability to independently complete repairs and preventative maintenance
• Must provide your own tools

Preferred

• 5+ years of diesel technician experience
• CDL Class B license
• ASE Certifications
• OEM Certifications
• DOT Inspection Certification
• Experience with Volvo powertrains
• Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools
• Ability to mentor junior technicians

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
