Job summary

Thermo King Northeast is hiring a full-time Technician at our Falmouth, ME location. The role involves diagnosing and repairing a range of vehicles, including buses and trucks, with emphasis on thorough diagnostics and accurate repairs.

Responsibilities include completing repair orders, communicating with customers, and maintaining tools. Requirements include 3+ years in repair, a valid license with DOT eligibility, and ASE certifications or willingness to pursue them.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of automotive, truck, or bus repair experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Current ASE certifications or willingness to work toward them.

• Performs thorough diagnostics on vehicles to identify issues.
• Executes efficient and accurate repairs on a variety of vehicles (buses, trucks, and other commercial vehicles).
• Performs warranty repair work per manufacturer guidelines and warranty policies.
• Completes required paperwork for repair orders and parts usage.
• Communicates repair recommendations to customers with service advisors.
• Owns and maintains proper tools to perform job functions.
• Follows instructions of foreman or supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs thorough diagnostics on vehicles to identify issues.

• Collaborates with the service advisors to communicate repair recommendations to customers.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma, trade school credential, or equivalent.
• Experience: Three or more years of training or experience in automotive, truck, or bus repair (dealership experience preferred).
• Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a DOT medical card, current CDL or eligibility to obtain one, and current ASE certifications or willingness to work toward them.
• Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, and a self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, twist, stand, walk, and work in and around vehicles for extended periods.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely.
