The Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic performs heavy-duty truck repair under general supervision, receiving on the job training in a development program to achieve service technician status. Responsibilities include general mechanical duties, overhauls, fuel/electrical/transmission work, brakes, and

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience in motor overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, motor tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
