Job description

Diesel Technician

Idealease with Southwest International Trucks is hiring a highly skilled Diesel Technician in Dallas, Texas. The Diesel Technician will have a full-time schedule, with access to full benefits and company incentives.

Diesel Technician Job Responsibilities:

1. Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
2. Diagnoses cause of most malfunctions and performs repair.
3. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
4. Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
5. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
6. Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
7. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
8. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
9. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
10. Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
11. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
12. Ensures that customers' trucks are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
13. Keeps shop area neat and clean.
14. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
15. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
16. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
17. Other duties may be assigned.

Diesel Technician Requirements:

1. Individuals will be expected to independently diagnose, repair and/or replace major components.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
3. 3 years hands-on diesel experience.
4. Must be able to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts.
5. Computer Skills & Data Entry (Diagnostics Experience Preferred).
6. Valid driver's license and clean driving record, CDL a plus.
7. Possess own tools and toolbox (rent to own plan available).

Diesel Technician Compensation:

$24/hr + Depending on Experience

Afternoon/Evening schedule Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday
