Job summary

Commercial Transport is seeking an experienced Tractor Trailer / Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team on the night shift in Beech Grove, IN. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair electrical and air conditioning systems, and service class A tractors and trailers to keep our fleet safe and reliable.

We offer competitive pay starting at $23 per hour with overtime opportunities and a strong benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of tractor and/or trailer repair experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience; must provide own tools.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and air conditioning systems.
• Run computer diagnostics and troubleshoot issues.
• Repair ABS systems, brakes, suspension and related components.
• Mount and dismount tires and perform general maintenance.

Tractor Trailer / Diesel Mechanic

Location: Beech Grove, IN

Pay: $23.00+ per hour (Based on Experience)

Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift

Overview

Commercial Transport is seeking an experienced Tractor Trailer / Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team on the night shift. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of Class A tractors and food-grade pneumatic tank trailers.

Our fleet consists primarily of late-model Freightliner and Kenworth trucks maintained at our Beech Grove terminal. We are committed to providing stable, long-term employment and a supportive work environment for every team member.

Schedule Options

• Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM – Midnight
• Sunday–Thursday: 3:30 PM – Midnight

Shift selection must be established before the start date and will begin upon completion of training.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) services on tractors and trailers
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems and air conditioning systems
• Conduct computer diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Diagnose and repair ABS systems
• Service brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components
• Mount and dismount tires
• Perform general maintenance and repair on Class A tractors and trailers
• Assist with engine diagnostics and repairs as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 2 years of tractor and/or trailer repair experience
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience
• Must provide own tools
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation

Preferred

• CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
• Experience as a:
• Diesel Mechanic
• Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Automotive Mechanic
• Trailer Mechanic
• Mobile Mechanic
• Welding Technician

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with diesel engines, trailer systems, and preventative maintenance programs
