Job summary

Ryder in Springfield, MA is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee to start a career with paid training and benefits. You will train on heavy duty equipment and work a first shift schedule, Mon-Fri, with no experience required.

Earn weekly pay, up to $1,500 in tool reimbursement, and enjoy medical/dental/vision after 30 days. PTO from day one, 401(k) match, uniforms and boot allowance, and growth opportunities are part of the package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year of mechanical experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ and proficient in English.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn equipment.
• Effective time management and attendance record.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop or deliver to rental shop.
• Fuel diesel, natural gas and hybrid vehicles properly while following safety policies.
• Record fuel activity and maintain inventories and reconciliation.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements.
