Job summary

Coca-Cola Consolidated in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Diesel Maintenance Technician (B) to repair and maintain diesel-powered equipment, trailers and material handling gear. The role operates with limited supervision and mentoring of newer technicians as needed.

We offer competitive pay starting at $28.50–$33.00 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential, weekly pay, paid training, PTO and holidays, a 401(k) with company matching, ESPP, comprehensive health benefits, and career advancement

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain diesel-powered equipment, trailers and material handling gear.
• Perform duties independently with limited supervision and mentor junior technicians as needed.
• Ensure safe operation and adherence to company standards.

Diesel Maintenance Technician (B)

Job Overview

Vehicle Technician B will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment; perform job duties independently with limited supervision; provide mentoring and assistance to Vehicle Technician C's as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Basic welding and cutting torch operation skills
• Basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repair skills
• Understanding of tire inflation systems
• Knowledge and ability to mount and dismount tires
• Basic diagnostic tool skills
• Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks
• Must adhere to company uniform and appearance standards
• Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers
• Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions tools, equipment, machinery and, or materials used to power, hand, diagnostic tools operate material handling equipment
• Must be capable of driving company equipment including class 8 tractors working conditions
• Must be able to work a exible schedule and be able to vary the start and finish times, possibly including weekends and holidays
• Basic computer skills
• Each technician needs to provide their own tools

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge acquired through 3-5 years of relevant work experience
• D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification
