Job summary

Kenworth Sales Company in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Service Shop Foreman for the 2nd shift (diesel). The role schedules 3:30pm–Midnight, assigns and reviews technician work, and ensures timely, quality repairs while complying with DOT drug-screen requirements.

You will supervise technicians, train staff, monitor capacity and communicate with service writers, parts, and warranty staff. A CDL, leadership ability, and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the truck service field.
• CDL license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to work well under pressure and stay organized.
• Ability to assist the Service Manager in training mechanics.
• Customer service skills to greet customers and coordinate service orders.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and recommend repairs.
• Ability to schedule and assign work to mechanics.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and verify quality of work performed by Service Technicians.
• Assign work based on skill level and expected completion times.
• Conduct quality control checks and train technicians.
• Coordinate communication between Service Writer and Technician about repairs and costs.
• Control labor time on flat rate jobs and monitor parts availability.
• Maintain service facility tools and equipment and assist other departments as needed.
