Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in the truck service field.
• CDL license or the ability to obtain a CDL and good driving record.
• Ability to work well under pressure with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to assist the Service Manager in training mechanics.
• Customer service skills to greet customers and coordinate service orders.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and recommend repairs to customers.
• Ability to schedule and assign work to mechanics.
• Ability to review work in process and assure its completion in a timely manner.
• Able to road test vehicles and ensure quality control.
• Able to ensure proper and correct information on repair orders.
• Able to supervise housekeeping in the Service department and maintain tools.
• Ability to communicate with customers, warranty, and supervisory staff.
• Vendor knowledge; experience with PACCAR and Cummins.
• Professional appearance; computer and technology proficient.
• Read, write, and comprehend English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assign, supervise and verify the quality of work performed by technicians.
• Directly assigns work based on skill level and time estimates.
• Perform quality checks and train technicians as needed.
• Coordinate communication about services, repairs, costs, and timelines.
• Track labor times on repairs and review labor charges.
• Oversee tools, equipment procurement and maintenance.
• Maintain shop facilities and oversee housekeeping.
• Assist managers with warranty policies and related tasks.
• Ensure accurate repair orders and customer contact flow.
• Promote labor, parts and accessory sales during customer contact.
• Monitor and close open repairs and expedite parts delivery.
• Coordinate with departments on estimates, approvals and payments.
