Job summary

STA Family of Companies is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Service Technician in New Milford to perform maintenance and repairs on large commercial vehicles. The role requires ability to follow OEM standards, conduct preventive inspections, and provide roadside and emergency service.

Candidates should have 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, certification accreditation, and complete required training. Background checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• 2+ year(s) experience as diesel mechanic or mechanic preferred.
• Accreditation from a school or certification program preferred.
• Complete all training requirements.
• Pre-employment background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections.
• Follow schedules to complete maintenance operations including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
• With supervision, perform unscheduled maintenance as needed.
• Perform engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests using drawings and specs.
• Provide emergency roadside services as needed.
• Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects.
• Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
• Maintain tools and a neat, orderly workplace.
• May be required to drive vans, buses, or vehicles for road tests.
