Job summary

Bowser Automotive in Pleasant Hills seeks a Diesel Service Technician to repair and maintain diesel vehicles, inspect systems, diagnose issues with diagnostic equipment, and follow safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds valid state inspection and emission licenses and a valid CDL, demonstrates strong customer service, multitasking ability, good judgment, and can explain technical problems to customers. You will support the Service Manager and Advisors to ensure quality service.

Qualifications

• Valid state inspection and emission license.

Responsibilities

• Test vehicle parts and systems for correct operation.
• Identify mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Follow checklists for every vehicle.
• Perform maintenance including oil changes, tune ups, transmissions, and electronic/AC systems.
• Replace, repair and/or retrofit worn parts.
• Explain automotive problems to customers when necessary.
• Maintain all training mandated by the dealership.
• Maintain own tools necessary to complete repairs.
• Abide by government regulations.
• Comply with Bowser safety policies and procedures.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
