Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking a Serviceman (Shop) in Wilmington, NC to service and maintain heavy diesel equipment and trucks. You will operate a service truck on job sites and perform shop-based maintenance, diagnostics and repairs as required.

Required qualifications include a CDL Class B with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements, 2 years of automotive or diesel experience, and a valid Medical card. You must be 21+, able to work long hours, and follow safety rules; stable attendance is

Qualifications

• 2 years automotive or diesel experience preferred.
• CDL Class B with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements required.
• Valid Medical card.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Working knowledge of hand tools.
• Commitment to safety rules and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate a service truck in designated construction areas and perform diesel equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and check levels (fluids, oil, filters).
• Keep radiators clean and verify cooling system antifreeze levels.
• Fuel and grease equipment on job sites; monitor tire condition.
• Ensure preventative maintenance is up to date and report needs to shop manager.
