Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services seeks a Diesel Service Technician to provide in-shop technical support for mechanics and oversee repairs per supervisor directions.

The role involves heavy-duty truck service, engine and transmission work, diagnostics, and adherence to dealer specifications. Safety and precision are emphasized, with opportunities for certification training and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; a technical school certificate is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related manual fabrication experience from blueprint specifications.
• Experience using standard and metric measurement tools.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills; ability to meet dealer/manufacturer time standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks.
• Use OEM diagnostic software to perform repairs per specifications.
• Conduct engine swings, transmission replacements, air brake services and chassis repairs.
• In-frame overhaul of heavy-duty engines per factory specs.
• Rebuild Allison transmissions in dedicated overhaul area.
• Operate engine, transmission and chassis dynos for diagnostics.
• Inspect, diagnose, test completed products for conformance to specs.
• Complete timekeeping and paperwork for repairs; follow work orders.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
