Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC in Denver, CO, is seeking a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic to perform skilled heavy‑duty truck repairs under minimal supervision. The role focuses on diagnosing major problems and repairing engines and drivetrains, with mentoring of Apprentice Technicians.

You will maintain a clean, safe work area, interact with customers, and coordinate with the Service Foreman on additional repair work.

Qualifications

• CDL license required and valid.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Inspector certifications required.
• Minimum of 4 years' heavy-duty truck repair experience or vocational training.
• Must possess necessary tools and strong customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy‑duty trucks with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoots major problems and guides apprentices.
• Maintains a neat, safe, organized work area and proper use of tools.
• Advises Service Foreman on additional repair work when needed.
• Maintains favorable relations with customers and participates in ongoing training.

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic. The role of the Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy‑duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision.

• Performs skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy‑duty truck equipment and related components with minimum supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on major problems.
• Works with and helps train Apprentice Technicians.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintains favorable relations with customers.
• Participates in training to stay abreast of new technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
