Ideal candidates have basic mechanical experience, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work as part of a team. Welding experience is a plus, and safety is emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical experience and familiarity with common hand and power tools.
• Willingness to follow instructions from mechanics and supervisor.
• Ability to stay organized, communicate clearly, and work as part of a team.
• Commitment to safe work practices and proper care of tools/equipment.
• Experience with construction equipment is preferred.
• Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare tools, parts, and supplies needed for scheduled work.
• Assist with cleaning equipment and preparing it for service or repair.
• Work with experienced diesel mechanics on fleet repair and service tasks.
• Help organize and maintain the shop and yard, including work areas, tool storage, and parts/supply areas.
• Communicate parts and supply needs to mechanics or the shop supervisor.
• Return tools and equipment to designated storage areas and report damaged or missing items.
• Follow shop safety procedures, use required PPE, and report hazards.
• Support other shop and yard tasks as priorities change.
