Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a diesel/mechanical technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts. Responsibilities include inspection, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires the ability to interpret manuals and work orders, repair or replace parts, and test performance to meet manufacturer specifications. Flexible attitude toward shifts and weather conditions is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Minimum of one year experience or completion of trade school; or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Knowledge of general repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) criteria.
• Experience with heavy truck repairs and diesel engine diagnostics.
• Adaptability to changing technology and updates.
• Strong mechanical ability and interest in engines/electronics.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in awkward positions.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and/or forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and maintain equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare FMCSA and other regulatory safety documents.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems; test for proper performance.
• Ensure work meets manufacturer specifications and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance and safety compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned as needed.
