Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years related experience.
• Ability to read catalogs and determine part numbers and prices.
• Experience handling customer orders and payments.
• Familiarity with measuring parts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read catalogs, microfiche viewers, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
• Determine replacement parts required according to inspections, customer requests, or descriptions.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
• Fill customer orders from stock.
• Prepare sales slips or contracts.
• Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
• Take inventory of stock.
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when replacements aren’t available.
• Examine returned parts for defects and exchange or refund.
