XPO is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Romulus, MI to maintain Class 6–8 diesel equipment, perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related gear. You will access equipment areas, diagnose issues, and conduct HVAC repairs while adhering to DOT, EPA, and safety regulations.

The role requires 2 years' experience or a tech school degree with certifications, EPA Refrigerant Handling training within 90 days, a valid driver's license, welding skills, and

Qualificações

• 2 years of experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair or a technical school degree with certification in heavy-duty truck/trailer maintenance.
• EPA HVAC Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification within 90 days of hire (ASE, MACS or equivalent).
• A valid driver's license.
• Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC).
• Basic hand tools required for heavy-duty trailer and tractor maintenance.
• Basic computer skills.
• Brake inspection qualification as defined by FMCSA 396.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualification as defined by FMCSA 396.19.
• Willing to work diverse shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment.
• Inspect and service equipment access points and perform necessary repairs.
• Repair or rebuild parts of various systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform HVAC repairs and ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA rules.
• Conduct safety inspections and document results; maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Move trailers around the property and operate a hostler as needed.
