Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Examines and diagnoses vehicle problems and repairs according to accepted methods.
• Discusses extensive or difficult repairs with Terminal Manager or Supervisor.
• Enforces CEMEX safety policies for all mechanics (lockout/tagout, hazard assessment).
• Ensures shop and repairs comply with OSHA regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance per PM checklist.
• Plans routine work procedures and prioritizes tasks.
• Handles lifting of vehicles with hydraulic jack or hoist for access to components.
• Removes and repairs components such as alternators, pumps, wheels, brakes, transmissions, etc.
• Disassembles components to inspect wear and determine failure causes.
• Troubleshoots and repairs hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
