Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to perform preventative maintenance on company tractors and trailers. The role includes troubleshooting, engine/brake repairs, hydraulic components, and basic welding, in a shop setting with some outdoor work in varying weather.

You will comply with all federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety rules, and participate in inspections, tool organization, and prompt paperwork.

Qualifications

Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.
Background check required.
HS diploma or GED preferred.
Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
Diesel mechanic experience required.
Diesel engine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
Troubleshoot machinery and repair engines, brakes, and drivetrains.
Repair hydraulic systems and attach tools (shears, forks, grapples).
Disassemble/repair body parts, ladders, platforms and engine covers.
Perform torch cutting and welding as needed.
Drive mechanic truck to yards within region.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace and comply with safety standards.
Inspect equipment for safety and keep up with paperwork.
