Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Up to 1 year of mechanical experience working with diesel engines preferred
• Must be 18 or older
• Proficient in English communication
• Customer service skills
• Technical aptitude and ability to learn equipment maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and in a team, and represent Ryder professionally
• Good time management and attendance
• Strong personal accountability and results-oriented
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with shop management systems preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred; must obtain within 6 months of hire

Regulated Tech Requirements

• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and road test
• Background and motor vehicle check, including drug/alcohol verification for past 3 years

Responsibilities

• Move and wash heavy-duty vehicles, fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles safely, record fuel activity, and manage inventories
• Perform multi-point inspections, check tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, and report issues
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards, perform minor maintenance and facility upkeep
• Complete all Technician Training Development Program requirements, including hands-on and online training in various technical areas
• Perform other duties as assigned
