Job summary

Transervice Logistics seeks a Diesel Mechanic/Technician in New Jersey to diagnose and repair diesel fleet equipment. You will inspect, test, and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, and A/C systems while maintaining DOT-compliant safety standards.

Expect a 4‑day workweek (four 10‑hour days) and competitive benefits. CDL A/B preferred, with experience in Class 8 tractors and trailers and your own toolset.

Qualifications

• 3 years proven diesel mechanic experience.
• CDL A or B preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and diesel systems.
• Own set of tools and shop safety awareness.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment.
• Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine condition.
• Repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, and A/C systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance per DOT and company guidelines.
• Maintain tractors and trailers and ensure safety compliance.

Diesel Mechanic/Technician Essential Functions

• You will maintain proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all assigned equipment.
• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
• Perform system repairs to include engines, transmission, air and hydraulic systems, tires, drive-train, steering and suspension, electrical and A/C.
• Perform all preventive maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections and complete repairs in accordance with DOT requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on tractors and trailers
• CDL A or B Preferred
• Up to $42.50/hour based on experience

Diesel Mechanic Requirements:

• Must be able to work on Fleet of Class 8 Diesel Tractors and Dry Van Trailers.
• Minimum of 3 years proven experience.
• CDL A/B **Preferred**
• Knowledge of hydraulics

• Strong written and verbal communication skills (a must)
• Computer skills: MS Office, GMail, TMT (Maintenance Software)
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
