Kenan Advantage Group, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Technician II-III to keep our Class 5-8 fleet safe and compliant. This hands-on role offers steady shifts in Baytown, TX, with comprehensive training and room to advance into diagnostics and inspections.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical and air systems, and complete inspections. We value safety, teamwork, and reliable documentation of repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of diesel fleet preventive maintenance and repair for Class 5–8 vehicles.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must pass background check, MVR, drug screen, and physical.
• Ability to obtain required industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Class 5-8 commercial vehicles and tank trailers.
• Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical, and air systems.
• Complete truck and trailer inspections.
• Perform wheel-end, tire, and preventive maintenance services.
• Troubleshoot starting, charging, fuel, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain DOT compliance standards and inspection requirements.
• Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
• Work safely in a team-oriented shop environment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance on Class 5-8 commercial vehicles and tank trailers
• Diagnose and repair brake, suspension, electrical, and air systems
• Complete truck and trailer inspections
• Perform wheel‑end, tire, and preventive maintenance services
• Troubleshoot starting, charging, fuel, and HVAC systems
• Maintain DOT compliance standards and inspection requirements
• Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately
• Work safely in a team‑oriented shop environment

Requirements

• 1-5 years of diesel, fleet, truck, trailer, or heavy equipment preventive maintenance and repair of Class 5 - 8 commercial vehicles and tank trailer inspection
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid Driver's License
• Must successfully pass a background check, MVR review, drug screen, and physical examination as a condition of employment due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
• Ability to obtain required industry certifications
