Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including adjusting/testing steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and engine components, in compliance with all relevant regulations. Test-drive vehicles post-repair to ensure issues are resolved.
  2. Arrange and obtain inspections and approval for major repairs before releasing vehicles from maintenance.
  3. Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area, ensuring compliance with all safety guidelines.
  4. Identify and report additional maintenance needs or repairs, including those requiring higher qualification technicians.
  5. Accurately record time, parts used, and repairs conducted.
  6. Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
  7. Notify Lead Technician of unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse.
  8. Uphold high ethical standards and personal integrity; report suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisors.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
  • Must have diagnostic, electrical, and AC skills.
  • Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment is required.
  • Experience with fleet maintenance and familiarity with diesel and gasoline systems.
  • Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Valid applicable state license (CDL preferred). The company offers free training for mechanics.
  • ASE Certification is desirable but not required.
