Job summary

Miller Transportation Group in Jersey City, NJ is hiring a Diesel Mechanic Technician (ThermoKing) for the Miller Truck Leasing division. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, reconditioning, and diagnostics on Class 1–8 trucks, including ThermoKing reefer units.

Requirements include 3+ years as a diesel/fleet/heavy equipment mechanic, a valid CDL (A or B) or ability to obtain one with our trainer, and tool proficiency. Evening shift 1:30 PM–10:00 PM with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a diesel, fleet, or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience or training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors.
• Valid CDL (A or B) or ability to obtain with company trainer.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and reconditioning on Class 1–8 vehicles.
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes per warranty procedures.
• Repair/replace brakes, steering, suspension, and perform alignments; service ThermoKing reefer units.
