Job summary

Miller Transportation Group is hiring a Diesel Mechanic Technician for the Miller Truck Leasing division in Florence, NJ. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on a large fleet, with opportunities for training and advancement.

Applicants should have fleet or diesel mechanic experience, a CDL (or ability to obtain one with our trainer), and be prepared to work 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Competitive pay and strong benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as fleet/diesel/heavy equipment mechanic or equivalent.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel tractors and related heavy equipment.
• Valid CDL or ability to obtain one with company assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and reconditioning on Class 1–8 trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose, repair, and document engine faults and perform brake, steering, suspension work.
• Replace clutches/transmissions and complete wheel-end and emission-related tasks.

Miller Transportation Group is immediately hiring a Diesel Mechanic Technicianfor our Miller Truck Leasingdivision in Florence, NJ. With over 100 years of experience and upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road, Miller currently operates 40+ Diesel Maintenance shops throughout KY, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, and NH. You Will:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles

• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions

You Have:

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• A valid CDL, or the ability to acquire a CDL with the assistance of our trainer
• Hand tools
• Ability to work: Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM until 11:30 PM
• ThermoKing Reefer experience is desired, but not a requirement
