Job summary

Miller Transportation Group in Jersey City, NJ is hiring a Diesel Mechanic Technician (ThermoKing) for the Miller Truck Leasing division. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, reconditioning, and diagnostics on Class 1–8 trucks, including ThermoKing reefer units.

Requirements include 3+ years as a diesel/fleet/heavy equipment mechanic, a valid CDL (A or B) or ability to obtain one with our trainer, and tool proficiency. Evening shift 1:30 PM–10:00 PM with strong benefits.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes per warranty procedures.
• Repair/replace brakes, steering, suspension, and perform alignments; service ThermoKing reefer units.

Miller Transportation Group is immediately hiring a Diesel Mechanic Technician OR Reefer Technician (ThermoKing) for our Miller Truck Leasing division in Jersey City, NJ. With over 100 years of experience and upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road, Miller currently operates over 40 Diesel Maintenance shops throughout KY, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, and NH. You Will

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles. Experience working on ThermoKing Reefer units is ideal.
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures.
• Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments. Perform maintenance on ThermoKing Reefer units and perform diagnostics on units - ideally have 608 Certification.
• Other duties assigned as required

You Have

• 3+ years working as a diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic (strong B Level Tech)
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• A valid CDL (Class A or B) OR the ability to acquire a Commercial Driver License with the assistance of our trainer
• Hand tools
• Ability to work:
• Monday - Friday from 1:30 PM until 10:00 PM
