Position Purpose

The Diesel Technician - Class B ensures safety by repairing, maintaining, and overhauling fleet diesel equipment, ensuring compliance and safe operation for associates.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration
• Document work orders accurately in the Enterprise Asset Management system
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers
• Inspect brake systems, steering, wheel bearings, and other components
• Conduct routine maintenance using hand and power tools
• Train and guide other mechanics
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. 3-5 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventive maintenance, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and refrigeration experience.
